NORTHWEST CORNER —  Saturday, June 5 and Sunday, June 6 will be the state’s annual Trails Day event.
According to the state’s Forest and Parks Association’s official website, there will be 180 events all over the state. Registration is now open and will close on Friday, June 5 at 9 p.m.

Northwest Corner events:
In Winsted, the Winsted Land Trust will host an educational Walk at the Houlihan Woods and Michael Giordano Tribute Area on Saturday, June 5 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (rain will cancel the event). Click here for more details and to register for  the event.

In Colebrook, the Colebrook Conservation Commission will be holding a nature walk on the Cooper Trail at the Colebrook Recreation Area on Sunday, June 6 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. (rain will cancel the event). Click here for more details and to register for the event.

In Torrington, the Torrington Trails Network will be holding a hike at the John Toro Sports Complex, Perkins Street, Naugatuck River Greenway on Sunday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The event will go on rain or shine. Click here for more details and to register for the event. 

In Barkhamsted, the Connecticut Appalachian Mountain Club is sponsoring a hike on the Tunxis Trail  through the Tunxis State Forest on Saturday, June 5 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (rain cancels the event). Click here for more details and to register.

In Norfolk, the Norfolk Land Trust is sponsoring a hike of the Billings Trail/ Tait Section on Sunday, June 6 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The event will go on rain or shine. Click here for more details and to register for the event.
