TORRINGTON —  The city’s Farmers Market at Franklin Plaza continues every Thursday, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Franklin Plaza. According to market co-organizer Heather Rems Korwin, owner of Sanctuary Power Yoga, the market has 30 vendors each week.
“As we get closer to the end of May we will have more farms from the Northwest Corner,” Korwin said. “We also have a wide variety of bakers, jewelers, and artisans. Every week we will have family activities just to get people moving and to give people opportunities to do things other than just shop. We want people to be engaged and moving, not just shopping.”
One of the many vendors at the market is Jeremy McKendry, co-owner of the Bakehouse in Litchfield.
“An event like this is important to us because we want to spread out into new communities, including Torrington,” McKendry said. “It’s good to venture out into a new community.”
The market will continue on until October 28.
