At his Thursday, April 29 press conference, Gov. Ned Lamont reported that there were 486 new Covid cases in the state, which he said was the lowest rate in six months. The test positivity rate as of April 29 was low at 1.34 percent.

On Friday, April 30, the positive case rate climbed slightly to 786 cases, with a test positivity rate of 2.02 percent. He said that as of April 29. 1,320,485 residents have been fully vaccinated, with 1,872,361 first doses administered. As of April 30 383 residents are currently hospitalized with Covid symptoms, a drop of 20 patients from the previous day.

Starting on Saturday, May 1, several restrictions on businesses will be lifted. Businesses will be allowed to stay open until 12 midnight. Restrictions on outdoor dining will be lifted, including table size limits and alcohol will now be allowed to be served without food.
