WINSTED — Not even the pandemic could stop the Easter Bunny from sharing joy at the town’s Easter Egg event on Thursday, April 1.
The event was called “You’ve Been Egged!” was organized by the town’s Recreation Department and held at the Rowley Street Playground.
This year due to the pandemic, the town could not have an in-person Easter egg hunt, which has been a tradition at the playground for many years.
Instead, members of the department gave away Easter eggs filled with candy in a drive-thru giveaway.
This way, adults could hold Easter egg hunts on their own properties for their children.
Recreation Director Tanya Risucci said there were 20 eggs in each bag handed out to each car.
“This is providing a safe way for families to participate in Easter,” Risucci said. “It also allows for children for a visit with the Easter Bunny in a safe way.”
