WINSTED — The Winchester Police Department held its 19th annual “Stuff A Cruiser” toy drive for children in need on Saturday, Dec. 12.
The toys are traditionally donated to the Salvation Army for children in need.
The department held the toy drive in front of TD Bank at Ledgebrook Plaza, CVS on Main Street, and the Torrington Municipal and Teachers Federal Credit Union on Rowley Street.
“The department holds this toy drive every year because we know we are very fortunate,” Officer Daniel Pietrafesa said in an interview during last year’s toy drive. “We have good jobs and we know there are families out there in need. We like to reach out to our community.”
