WINSTED — Details are scarce about the possibility of several properties in town being developed for a new location for Dunkin’ Donuts.
What is known is that on the agenda for the Monday, Dec. 14 Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, there is an item that lists a pre-development discussion with Dunkin’ Donuts regarding 8, 28, and 38 South Main Street.
When contacted on Monday, Nov. 30, town Land Use Assistant Pamela Colombie said that she did not know the details of the project and that an application for developing the properties has not yet come into the town’s planning office.
However, she did say that Robert Colabella, president of Laurel Engineering in Winsted, is involved with the project.
Colabella did not return calls for comment for this story.
The franchise currently has two locations in town: 3 Main Street and 760 Main Street.
The location at 8 South Main Street is the former location of Primo Restaurant, which closed back in 2016.
Meanwhile, 28 South Main Street is listed in various property databases as the location of Sew-Pros Tailor Shop, while 38 South Main Street is a residential house.
