TORRINGTON —  The Friends in Service to Humanity of Northwest Connecticut (FISH) is holding a coat collection at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 837 Charles Street and at the St. John Paul the Great Parish at 160 Main Street.
Donors are requested to leave their coats in plastic bags outside the Lutheran Church door or at the back porch of the parish.
The collection will continue until Tuesday, Nov. 17.
The collection is part of FISH’s sixth annual Rally to End Hunger and Homelessness in Northwest Connecticut.
According to a press release issued by the organization, due to the continuing COVID pandemic, the event is being held in a new format.
Residents in need of a coat can stop at Joseph’s House at 116 Water Street in Torrington on Friday, Nov. 20 between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. or Saturday, Nov. 21 between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
