Winchester Public Schools report COVID case

WINSTED — In a letter to families and staff of the Winchester School district on Tuesday, Oct. 20, Superintendent of Schools Melony Brady-Shanley reported that a member of the school community tested positive for COVID-19.
According to Shanley, the affected person is remaining home for 14 days.
“The last day this person was in the district was on Friday, Oct. 16,” Brady-Shanley wrote. “Anyone who is considered a ‘close contact’ with this person has been contacted by the district already. The local health officials will make an additional contact with the affected individuals and provide appropriate next steps.”
As of Monday, Oct. 19, the state has reported 75 confirmed COVID-19 cases and three presumed cases in Winsted.
