WINSTED — A Norfolk resident was killed in a motor vehicle accident on Monday, Sept. 28.
According to a press release issued by the Winchester Police Department, the accident took place around 7:44 p.m. on Route 263 near the Goshen and Winchester town line.
Based on evidence at the scene, a 2006 Nissan Sentra was traveling eastbound on Ashley Road (Rt. 263) near the Goshen/Winchester town line, when the vehicle veered off the left side of the road, collided with a stone wall, then rolled over.
There were two occupants in the vehicle: driver Tyler Brazil, 21, of Norfolk, and passenger, Alec Cleveland, 25, of Winsted.
Brazil was pronounced deceased at the scene. Cleveland was transported to Hartford Hospital via LifeStar with non-life-threatening injuries. The Connecticut State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit was called to assist in the investigation.
The vehicle sustained heavy front and rear damage and was towed from the scene. The cause of the accident is unknown at this time. The investigation is continuing.
