BARKHAMSTED — A Hamden resident was seriously injured in an accident on Sunday, May 3.
According to a report by State Police Troop B Officer Sarah Salerno, the accident took place at the intersection of Route 318 at 2:45 p.m.
A 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Z71, driven by New Hartford resident Leah Alibozek, 57, was traveling northbound on Route 219.
The passenger of the vehicle was New Hartford resident Lawrence Alibozek, 75.
At the same time a 2019 Harley Davison ridden by Hamden Santos Garcias, 42, was traveling southbound on Route 219.
Both vehicles made contact with each other in a side-swipe manner.
Garcias lost control of his motorcycle and was ejected from it. 
Both Leah and Lawrence Alibozek were uninjured in the accident.
Garcias sustained significant physical injuries but was conscious and alert at the scene, prior to being transported to Hartford Hospital via Life Star.
The accident remains under investigation.
